On the heels of the formal ratification of the decision of the Central Management Council (CMC) on the Consolidated Modified Admission Processes (CAMAPRO)—a comprehensive framework now encompassing Application Review, Screening, and Acculturation—the Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Admissions Team has successfully concluded a major milestone in the 2026 admissions cycle.

Led by the Program Director (PGD), Dr. Kenneth Ogbunehu, the Admissions Team conducted a rigorous Screening Exercise for applicants seeking admission into the School of Communications & Media Studies’ Postgraduate Diploma programmes for the 2026 Academic Session. This exercise was designed to ensure that all prospective scholars meet the academic, professional, and ethical standards required to thrive within the SCMS learning environment. The screening process comprised a series of structured virtual interviews, during which applicants were assessed on their academic preparedness, professional experience, career aspirations, and alignment with the School’s educational philosophy. Through this process, the Admissions Team ensured transparency, fairness, and adherence to the newly adopted CAMAPRO framework.

Upon the successful conclusion of the screening interviews, the PGD Admissions Team has formally submitted its outcomes and recommendations to the CMC Board Chair—who also serves as the Dean of the School—for final consideration and approval. This submission represents a critical step in the admissions governance process and underscores the collaborative oversight between academic leadership and institutional management. Applicants who have successfully completed the Screening Exercise will be required to participate in a mandatory 10-day Acculturation and Onboarding Programme. This programme is designed to fully immerse admitted scholars in SCMS’s academic culture, institutional values, learning expectations, regulatory frameworks, and scholarly best practices. Upon the successful completion of the Acculturation sessions, eligible candidates will be issued their Provisional Letters of Admission, formally ushering them into the 2026 Postgraduate Diploma cohort.
