The Student Governance Structure of the School of Communications & Media Studies (SCMS) is designed to promote leadership, participation, and accountability among students while ensuring that their voices play an active role in shaping academic and extracurricular life. Each Cohort/programme of the respective levels (i.e. PGD and Masters) have their appointed leadership – President, Vice & Secretary. At the core is the central governing body of all programme cohorts in a given Academic Session – the Council of Presidents (CoPs), which serves as the official liaison between the student body and the School’s administration and comprises of all Presidents & their Vice Presidents of the respective programmes if the institution.
The CoPS, led by the President of Presidents (PofP) and a team of elected officers, represents student interests in academic committees, welfare discussions, and institutional events.
